The Chinese word “从” is a preposition that means “from” or “since”. It is used to indicate the starting point of an action or event, or to express a duration of time. For example, “从我来到这里以后，我一直在学习中文”, which translates to “Since I came here, I have been studying Chinese”. It can also be used to indicate a source or origin, such as “这本书是从图书馆借来的”, which means “This book was borrowed from the library”.
